Dimpleflo Mutiltiubes operate on the same principle as conventional shell & tube heat exchangers where the primary fluid or product is supplied to a grouping of parallel tubes while the service fluid flows between and around the tubes within the outer tube shell. The difference is the dimple profiled heat exchanger piping, which radically increases heat transfer coefficents, especially when heating or cooling slurries and moderately viscous products. The increased efficiency of the dimples combined with more heat transfer area within each tube module, means Dimpleflo Shell & Tube heat exchangers are more compact than monotube configurations.
For abrasive or corrosive applications Dimpleflo Multitube heat exchangers can be constructed with titanium or super duplex alloy. High temperature heat transfer applications can be accommodated using Inconel alloys on the inner heat transfer pipes and the shell if required.
