The Dimpleflo Double Tube Heat Exchanger (also known as “Tube-in-Tube or Monotube Heat Exchanger”) is the simplest configuration of hygienic heat exchanger. The product flows through the inner heat transfer tubes and the service fluid flows through the surrounding shell. Because of its configuration and geometry, the Dimpleflo Double Tube is a true counter current heat exchanger and provides full product integrity. Using dimple tube technology, both heat transfer and efficiency are increased over conventional smooth tube heat exchangers. A further benefit of the “turbulence enhancing” dimples, is potential fouling is minimised, especially when heating fouling and viscous products.
Expansion bellows are integrated in the outer shell to absorb differential expansion between shell and inner heat transfer tube. Options for the Dimpleflo Double Tube Heat Exchangers includes: frame mounting, insulation and stainless steel cladding.
Dimpleflo Double Tube Heat Exchangers are suitable for fluids or slurries containing fibres, chunks or other particles and low-high viscosity fluids. For very high viscosity food products like honey, fruit jams, pet mince and marmalades, please refer to our Dimpleflo tri-Tube Heat Exchanger range.
Dimplelfo Heat exchangers are manufactured with 316 stainless steel dimpled heat transfer tubes as standard. Heat exchangers for tomato based products, products high in salt and other corrosive ingredients, can be manufactured using 2205 duplex material. Titanium heat transfer tubes and super duplex heat exchangers are also available. Teralba have manufactured these tube-in-tube type heat exchangers as jacketed heat transfer lines, vertical heat exchangers and virtually any shape or size.
For heating and cooling of pharmaceutical and veterinary products, Dimpleflo’s can be supplied with electropolshed surface finishes of 0.4Ra.
