Introducing Teralba Temp-Plate Immersion Heat Exchangers
Teralba Temp-Plate Immersion Heat Exchangers are designed to heat or cool liquids directly inside tanks, vessels and process equipment. Also known as prime surface heat exchangers, Temp-Plate panels are manufactured from two metal sheets that are welded together and inflated to create internal flow passages.
A heating or cooling medium flows through these passages, transferring heat through the panel surface to or from the surrounding liquid. This allows heating or cooling to take place directly inside the tank or vessel, without the need to continuously circulate the process liquid through an external heat exchanger.
Temp-Plate panels can be manufactured from stainless steel, titanium, carbon steel and selected high-alloy materials, and can be formed to suit a wide range of shapes, vessel sizes and operating requirements.
Temp-Plate is ideal where heating or cooling is required directly inside a tank or vessel, particularly where space is limited or an external heat exchanger is not practical.
Panels can be designed to suit the tank, vessel and process requirements, making them suitable for both new installations and retrofit applications.
Teralba can assist with panel sizing, material selection, flow arrangement and overall design based on the required heat load and operating conditions.

Teralba Temp-Plate Immersion Heat Exchangers can be designed around the required heat transfer duty, process conditions and available installation space. The panels are manufactured from two sheets of metal that are spot or laser welded together and sealed around the edges.
The welded panel is then inflated to create internal passages for the heating or cooling medium. Panel size, material, profile and flow arrangement can be selected to suit the application.
Double embossed panels are profiled on both sides.
This allows both sides of the panel to transfer heat and makes this configuration well suited to immersion applications.
Single embossed panels are profiled on one side while the opposite side remains relatively flat.
This configuration is commonly used where the panel needs to sit against a tank wall, vessel or other equipment surface.
Temp-Plate Immersion Heat Exchangers can be used across a wide range of industries where liquids need to be heated or cooled directly inside a tank or vessel.
They are particularly useful where space, process conditions or fluid characteristics make external heat exchangers less practical.

Teralba designs Temp-Plate systems for industrial heating and cooling applications where conventional heat exchanger configurations may not suit the available space or process requirements.
An immersion heat exchanger is installed directly inside a tank or vessel to heat or cool the liquid around it.
A heating or cooling medium flows through internal passages within the panel, transferring heat through the metal surface.
Temp-Plate panels are manufactured from two sheets of metal that are welded together and inflated to create internal flow passages.
A hot or cold service medium flows through these passages while heat transfers through the panel surface to or from the surrounding liquid.
Temp-Plate heat exchangers offer a large heat transfer surface, low pressure drop, welded construction and flexible design options.
They can also be manufactured in different shapes and materials to suit the application.
Yes.
Temp-Plate panels can be customised to suit the required heat load, tank dimensions, operating conditions, service medium and available installation space.
Common material options include stainless steel, titanium, carbon steel and selected high-alloy metals.
The most suitable material depends on temperature, pressure, corrosion and process chemistry.
Double embossed panels are profiled on both sides and are commonly used for immersion applications.
Single embossed panels have one profiled side and one flatter side and are generally used where the panel is mounted against another surface.
Yes.
Dimpled Temp-Plate construction can be used where higher service-media flow rates are required.
Yes, provided the correct material is selected.
Stainless steel, titanium and selected high-alloy materials can be used for corrosive or chemically aggressive applications.
Not always.
However, agitation can improve heat transfer where the liquid in the tank is relatively static.
A mixer or side-entry agitator may be used to improve circulation around the heat transfer surface.
The exposed panel surface is accessible for inspection and cleaning.
Cleaning requirements will depend on the process fluid and the amount of fouling or solids present.
Sizing depends on factors including tank volume, process fluid, starting and target temperatures, heating or cooling time, service-media temperature and flow rate.
Teralba can review these requirements and determine the required heat transfer area and panel configuration.
